All Four USA Teams Qualify for ITF International Team Finals; Spizzirri, Inoue Win ITF Grade 5 Titles in Martinique; Fields Set for Division I Team Championships


The ITF North and Central American qualifying for Junior Davis Cup, Junior Fed Cup and World Junior Tennis is complete, with all four team from the United States advancing to the finals this summer in Europe.

Below are the results from the final day:

JUNIOR FED CUP

At the ITF Grade 5 in Martinique, 15-year-old Eliot Spizzirri captured his first ITF junior title, while 13-year-old Hina Inoue won her second consecutive tournament.  Spizziri, the No. 2 seed, defeated unseeded Patrick Sebastian 6-4, 6-2 in the final.  Inoue, who is undefeated in ITF junior singles play in her brief career, beat Aubane Droguet of France 1-6, 7-6(4), 6-1 in a battle of unseeded finalists.

Michael Agee won the boys doubles, with partner Frederic Fibleuil of Martinique, beating Stefan Leustian and Faris Khan 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 in the final.

Both 18-year-olds came up short in ITF Pro Circuit finals Sunday, with Caroline Dolehide falling to top seed Madison Brengle 6-4, 6-3 in the final of the $60,000 tournament in Charlottesville Virginia and Sam Riffice losing to top seed Calvin Hemery of France 6-3, 6-1 at the $15,000 Futures in Vero Beach Florida.

Jovana Jaksic of Serbia and Catalina Pella of Argentina won the doubles title in Charlottesville, beating wild cards Brengle and Danielle Collins 6-4, 7-6(5).

The fields are set for the NCAA Division I Team Championships, with the draws scheduled to be revealed on Tuesday at NCAA.com, with the men's announcement at 5 p.m. and the women's announcement at 5:30 p.m.

Bobby Knight, who provided onsite coverage of Georgia's SEC conference tournament win over Mississippi State at College Tennis Today, will have more on the probable fields, as will Granger Huntress at Texas College Tennis.
